About Kristian

Kristian Petersen was born in 1979 and grew up in the country town of Wangaratta, located in North East Victoria, Australia.

Kristian took up golf at the age of twelve. After his first game he knew he would become a professional one day. Kristian's life consisted of practice three nights a week after school and all day Saturday and Sunday.  There's little wonder why eighteen months later he was playing off a handicap of five. The amazing thing was, he was totally self taught.

Highlights of Kristian's amateur career as a junior included numerous tournament victories in both handicap and stroke, he represented Wangaratta High School at the all high Championships at Victoria Colf Club in 1993 and shot three even par scores on three different courses.  He was a senior pennant representative and a regular in the local paper.

By the age of nineteen, Kristian was living in Melbourne, Australia and playing off a scratch handicap at Woodlands Golf Club.
